So, now you’ve spent a week at home watching tv and cleaning out your pantry because of the snow (at least here in Frederick) and your pants don’t fit…why not join us for The Sweetest Race In Town and sign up for the Cakes for Cause 5K Cupcake Run on April 11th? It’s our opportunity to make some poor unsuspecting volunteer dress up as a cupcake and it’s your opportunity to jump start your exercise regimen with a short and sweet run (or walk). We have cool t-shirts, gift bags, blinged cupcake medals in several categories, door prizes and the opportunity to support your favorite job training program for youth who have aged out of the foster care system. And no, you don’t have to be a real runner to participate (we’re not!). Proceeds benefit Cakes for Cause and our job training program for vulnerable youth in Frederick. The youth in our program gain 6 months of solid job experience, paid employment and the life skills necessary to experience success as adults. Our inspiration is to make a difference for youth in our neighborhoods and help them realize their potential – whether it’s in the food industry or any other industry.
